Audi is doing everything it can to become the leader in the luxury SUV space with its rapidly growing and evolving lineup of models. One of the ways the company has been trying to make its models more appealing to potential buyers is safety, and the 2016 Audi Q3 has certainly hit the mark. The German manufacturer has just announced that the companies smallest US crossover has been awarded a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS after it earned top ratings in every category.

Audi was quite proud of its new Q3 when it was announced. The new crossover has a new design with revised bumpers and lights, but the car also makes use of more lightweight materials thanks to a new aluminum hood and tailgate.

If you are wondering how the Q3 won maximum ratings in every category, but didn’t manage to get the new Top Safety Pick + (plus) award, that has to do with equipment. The plus designation is for models that receive maximum scores and come with several pieces of crash prevention technology like frontal collision detection, etc.

As it stands, the Q3 may just be the safest thing in the class. Good on you, Audi.
