A Honda Motorcycle Man to Retire

By on Wednesday, September 12th, 2012

For almost three decades, a man by the name Ray Blank watched and got his hands dirty as some of the greatest pieces of two-wheel machinery rolled off a factory floor and on to the bruised but beautiful pavement that is U.S. soil.  Effective October 1, 2012, Honda will wave goodbye to their Senior Vice President of the Motorcycle Division, Blank, who has been with the company for the past 30 years.  As heartbreaking as it is to watch a great leave, Honda is making sure that their new man is just as qualified and gung-ho as Blank.  Get ready to welcome Robert Gurga.

“Ray Blank has been a great leader here at American Honda and for the industry as well,” said Gurga who will be named the Motorcycle Division’s Vice President.  Previously the Assistant Vice President of Marketing, Gurga is no stranger to the two-wheeled Honda and has been serving the manufacturer for more than 30 years himself.  Even still, Blank will surely be missed.

“I never thought I would have the good fortune to be involved with so many great motorcycles and industry friends during my time here. I want to thank everyone I’ve worked with for memories I never dreamed possible,” said Blank.
