The Aston Martin Vulcan made its moving debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few weeks ago, but a short hill climb is anything but a test of the track-only supercar. Aston Martin agrees, and so to really prove just how capable their new monster is, they are taking it to the 24 Hours of Spa. While the Spa 24 might not be as prestigious as Le Mans, anyone who really follows endurance knows it is the most demanding race of the season. Le Mans is a long course, but it is fairly flat with relatively easy corners. Spa though, is a beast that can take its toll on any machine. Fast, aggressive corners and lots of elevation change combine to make this race hard for F1 drivers, and they are only out there for 2 hours or so. Imagine that level of torture on a car for a full 24. If there is any test more demanding of road car, I don’t know what it is.

The race starts this Saturday, so be sure to come back early next week and we will be sure to let you know just how the race went for the 800 horsepower, V12 Aston.
