Audi’s parent company, Volkswagen, is recalling one of its most priced cars: the R8 Spyder. An investigation into the cabriolet supercar for a leaking fuel line is currently being conducted by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) and affects certain 2011 and 2012 model year cars. If Audi built your R8 Spyder between May 18, 2010 and June 22, 2011, it could be in danger.

The investigation and recall stem from a problem within the Spyder’s fuel system. The fuel supply line can come in contact with the engine’s heat shield and constant vibration may cause a break in the line, subsequently creating a leak. If that weren’t bad enough, the leak could potentially create an engine fire if it occurs near an ignition spark. Audi will remedy the issue free of charge and will begin contacting owners later this month.
