BMW Helps Design Computer Mouse

Car companies make some of the most beautiful pieces of sculpture that have ever graced our eyes, but have you ever wondered what would happen if car companies began designing other items? Now it is true that many automakers dabble in other things, Porsche for example has teamed up with RIM to design a Blackberry device, but we would like to see more.

BMW has stepped up to plate and teamed up with Thermaltake to create a custom design gaming mouse. Created with design from BMW’s DesignworksUSA group, the new Level 10 M Mouse is a thorough rethink of the standard mouse. In true high-end German fashion, most of the mouse is solid aluminum with precise details, like the integrated cooling holes. BMW says that the venting is because “even top-seeded gamers break into a cold sweat at heart-stopping moments.”

The mouse also has some cool geek features like adjustable lighting color and adjustments for angle, both vertically and laterally. It should be available now with pricing starting around $100.

This is the second collaboration of these two companies, with the first being a computer tower simply dubbed the Level 10 chassis.

Thermaltake has released a video showing of the new mouse and its many details. Feel free to check it out.
