The rare breed of BMW 3-Series cars, the all wheel drive XDrives, are being recalled. Mostly occupying the upstate market, the 328i XDrive and 335i XDrive could potentially have a problem with their front driveshaft assembly. It is believed by BMW that a certain number of vehicle’s front attachment bolts may not have been tightened to specification. Over time, the bolts could become loose, causing the driveshaft to fail and power to the front wheels to be lost.

BMW is only recalling a small number of the XDrive cars. 2011 model years built between February 8, 2011 and July 29, 2011 are affected. Both the naturally aspirated 328i and turbocharged 335i are at risk. Notification of owners will begin in October and certified dealerships will replace the attachment bolt free of charge.
