Drag Racing a Toyota Sequoia? Get Ready to Meet “DragQuoia”

By on Thursday, September 6th, 2012

Antron Brown knows speed, especially given he is the current NHRA Top Fuel points leader.  Going fast in a straight line is his expertise so it may seem a bit odd that his next project build will involve a full size Toyota Sequioa SUV.  With plans to be pieced together for the 2012 running of the Toyota Racing Dream Build competition, Brown is looking to win by hauling full families around at triple digit speeds.

“The build process is going to be intense…blood, sweat, and tears,” said Brown.  The idea for the “DragQuoia” came to be when the question was asked, “how do I share some of this adrenaline with my family?”  Plans to win include 33-inch drag slicks, a TRD supercharger, nitrous injection and chassis fabrication.  In the end, Brown hopes to have 650 horsepower and seating for the whole family.

The competition takes four racing teams and puts them against each other to see who can build the coolest and most radical Toyota vehicle.  Fans can vote starting October 20 and the polls will be open for 10 days.  If burning rubber in far-too-big SUVs sounds cool to you, then make sure to watch Antron Brown and his “DragQuioa”.  “We’re chopping it down, we’re making it low, we’re making it mean, we’re making it aggressive, and in all…we’re making it fast!”
