Ford Starts Focus Production in Thailand

By on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

The current generation Focus compact is on a roll to become one of the most widely accepted Fords of all time.  With major manufacturing facilities around the world dedicated to the little car, one more has been added to Thailand to boost global production even more.  Conceived by an investment of $450 million, the all-new Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) plant has already gotten to work on the new Focus which should reach the public hands of Asian and African buyers by August of this year.

“The all-new Focus will expand our appeal to a whole new generation of Ford customers in Thailand and across this region,” said Peter Fleet, president of Ford ASEAN.  Located in Rayong, Thailand, FTM is the fifth Ford global facility to produce the Focus.  The Thai-built car will be available to not only the Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) but it will be offered to the Australian, New Zealand and South African market as well.
