My cars brake light periodically comes on. It only happens in cold weather.

1996 Geo Prizm? After I get to about 35 mph the brake light comes on. As I slow down it goes off and then when I pick up speed again it stays off until I come to a complete stop. Once I'm at a complete stop and try taking off again the light comes back on.
The car is from New Mexico and is now in Illinois where the weather is different..I don't know if this would have anything to do with it.

Is there anyone that can help with this problem? Please help

Check the brake fluid. It may not be your problem, but it is definately the easiest thing to check. If it is low the light will come on. The resevoir should be on the drivers side of the car near the top of the engine compartment. It will be attached to the firewall.
