The Eau Rouge was supposed to have a monster V6 and AWD. We speculated that meant it would take its engine from the GT-R, but now Nissan has confirmed the news. The Eau Rouge model Q50 features an engine and AWD system that is nearly identical to that found in the GT-R. The changes include a few things like intake and tuning to create a power output that is more linear, and less explosive. This is supposed to be a luxury car after all.

Oh, and power has been increased over the GT-R to 560 horsepower. The one thing that is missing from the GT-R parts bin is the transmission. The Q50 will dump the lighting fast dual clutch for the family seven-speed auto. So it’s a GT-R with more power, better looking exterior and rear eats you can actually use. This could be the best car ever made.

As always, we will reserve judgement until we get some seat time, but this looks to be the most exciting thing to come out of Nissan since, well since they crammed the GT-R powertrain into the Juke. We like this “make everything GT-R powered” game.
