Seventeen years ago, Toyota’s luxury division, Lexus, pulled the covers off a vehicle that would go down in automotive history as an absolute hit – the RX crossover. Next week – April 1, 2015 to be exact – the model’s fourth generation will attempt to break ground once again when it debuts at the New York International Auto Show. The car will be shown during a press conference held in the Galleria at Jacob Javits Convention Center.

Judging by the teaser shot sent out by Lexus, the new RX will take a bit of a turn in the design department compared to generations of past. The rear section appears to be slanted much earlier and lower than before, giving the RX a four-door coupe like profile. The full blown car has yet to be launched but surly, Lexus won’t do much to an already well-established recipe.
