Porsche Motorsports Expands Its Retro Coverage

While finding the limits of a Porsche is one of the most satisfying tasks around, scrambling towards the edge in an old Porsche might be even better.  To accommodate all types of German built legends, Porsche Motorsports North America (PMNA) announced it will expand its services to include more than just 911s.  With help from Porsche AG’s Motorsport Division in Weissach, Germany, U.S. and Canadian vintage Porsche owners will be able to get help from the best in the business to restore and eventually race their icons.

“We want to keep the memory of Porsche’s many racing successes alive by not just putting our legendary race cars on display but by letting them actively compete in events that celebrate historic motorsports,” said Achim Stejskal, Director of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.  Until now, PMNA’s classic attention was given to vintage 911 race cars.  With Weissach’s help, the brand’s skills will now expand to include restoring all kinds of Porsches from the special to the down-right legendary.  Soon to be based in Carson, CA, the outfit will take on monstrous tasks such as rebuilding the paramount monsters that supply power to the 917.
