When March rolls around each year, you can be assured of three things: “March Winds,” “March Madness” in college basketball, and the return of the Atlanta International Auto Show.

The 29th Annual Auto Show will take place on March 23-27, 2011 in the C Building of the Georgia World Congress Center on Northside Drive.

“We are also very happy to once again be exhibiting in C Building,” remarked Shayne Wilson, President of the Metro Atlanta Automobile Dealers Association (MAADA), which produces the attraction.. “This Northside Drive location makes it very convenient for our customers, since it is surrounded by plenty of available parking. The show floor of the event is also on street level, cutting down the distance that our customers have to walk. We want them to save their energy for all of the exhibits on our 400,000 square foot show floor.

There’s a great lineup of automotive manufacturers scheduled for including the following:

ACURA, ASTON MARTIN, AUDI, BUICK, CADILLAC, CHEVROLET, CHRYSLER, DODGE, FIAT, FORD, GMC, HONDA, HYUNDAI, INFINITI, JAGUAR, JEEP, KIA, LAMBORGHINI, LAND ROVER, LEXUS, LINCOLN, LOTUS, MAZDA, MINI, NISSAN, PORSCHE, RAM, SCION, SUBARU, TOYOTA, VOLKSWAGEN, VOLVO & WHEEGO.

Also at press time, the following 2012 pre-production vehicles have been scheduled: AUDI A6, AUDI A7, AUDI TT RS, BUICK VERANO, CHEVROLET TT SONIC, FIAT 500, FORD C-MAX, FORD FOCUS, HYUNDAI VELOSTER, MAZDA5, RANGE ROVER EVOQUE, TOYOTA PRIUS V, VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT, and the VOLVO S60 T5.

The show is also happy to announce that the very successful “AUTO SHOW: ON THE GO” program will return. At press time, Kia, General Motors, and Toyota will all be taking it to the streets around the Congress Center, offering test drives to qualified attendees. G.M. and Kia also conducted Ride and Drive events in 2010 show, and both said that the Atlanta show was among their best outings in the nation.

  • Kia’s Experience the New Standard” will give show goers the opportunity to test drive the all-new Optima. They will be conducting these drives during all five days of the show.
  • General Motors will bring out 12 of their hottest new vehicles for their “Experience the Drive” on March 25-27. Chevrolet will offer the Camaro, Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, Silverado 1500 All Star, Traverse and Volt; Buick will have the Enclave, LaCrosse and Regal; and GMC will roll out the Acadia, Sierra 2500 HD Diesel, Terrain and the Yukon Denali Hybrid.
  • Toyota’s “Drive Center” will also hit the streets on March 25-27. Attendees can test drive the Camry Hybrid, 4Runner, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Sienna and Tundra.
  • As always, the Auto Show will be presenting a number of special attractions, including celebrity and comic character appearances.
  • SpongeBob Squarepant will appear at the event on March 26 and 27, compliments of Comcast Spotlight.
  • Show attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Iron Man on March 26 and 27.

The Auto Show will also be offering many discount opportunities this year.

IHOP will be sponsoring a special day for Seniors on Thursday, March 24th. All Seniors 55 and older can show their identification of age at the show box office on this day and receive a 50% discount off the $10.00 Adult Admission. These same Seniors can also save 50% on parking by showing their identification of age at the entrance of the Yellow or Gold Parking Lots of the Georgia World Congress Center on Northside Dr. This special one day discount is only available to individuals born before March 25, 1956. This offer cannot be combined with any other discount offer for this day.

Attendees can also pick up $3:00 Discount Coupons for March 23 and 24 at participating New Car & Truck Dealerships, IHOP Restaurants and in select AJC Newspaper Ads.

The Georgia World Congress Center is offering a special $2.00 discount off public parking on March 23 & 24 ONLY in their Yellow or Gold Parking Lots on Northside Drive. To receive this discount, attendees must tell the parking attendant that they are attending the Auto Show.
