My 2015 Gumball 3000 trip with Team AnastasiaDate has already been an exciting one, and I haven’t even arrived in Sweden yet. After a sudden storm left a friend’s car completely flooded and non-functioning, my ride to the airport was suddenly out of commission. A quick scramble saw another friend swoop in to save the day at the last minute. And then that is when I locked my passport in my car with my keys.

Thus proceeds my second mad-dash of the day to secure my spare set of keys so I could get my passport out of the car. Finally I arrive at the airport, with plenty of time to spare, and I set about checking in for my flight. And then I can’t check in because the system thinks my passport has expired. After taking care of that issue with a rather patient counter clerk for Delta, I board my plane and head south to Atlanta where after a short delay upon landing I find myself with just 15 minutes to make it across the entire Atlanta International Airport to catch my flight to New York.

All’s well that ends well I suppose. I am now sitting at 33,000 feet, I have a window seat, we are making good time to New York, and I am seated next to a lovely couple who are mad for each other.

It makes me miss my wonderful wife dearly.

Last year’s Gumball was a series of unforgettable memories and moments, and this year looks like it is going to be the same.
