2001 vw wolfsburg 1.8t Help???

so i got a 2001 volkswagon wolfsburg, and lately has been stalling on me has really low rpms and completely shuts off after i get to like 10-15 mph. it shakes and sputters when you start it what could it be? it has a check engine light but i wanna get an idea of what it could be any ideas?

The check engine light will tell you the prob, then you can work from thier, could be not a lot of air going in, injectors may be cloged, but get that engine code it will help a lot

get the fuel injection system cleaned. and also check if your throttle body is dirty
