I just graduated from college and am looking for my first post-college car. I've spent months and months researching and test-driving cars, but I'm torn between a 2008 Honda Civic and a 2008 VW Jetta. I love the fact that Civics are known for reliability and great gas mileage, but the Civic isn't nearly as fun or feature-rich as the Jetta. My fear with the Civic is that 6 months down the road my car will bore me to death - my fear with the Jetta is that 6 months down the road I'm going to be spending a fortune to get things fixed that might not be covered under warranty. Although the newer (2006+) Jetta models have gotten good recommendations from Consumer Reports, I'm still a little worried about taking the plunge - don't want an expensive mistake on that first car! What would you recommend?
