If you still have the old filter you removed take it apart to see if it full of rust flakes or any other stuff. If so you may have a bad gas tank so it has re-clogged the new filter.
Replace with new filter.See if it is ok.I found a small piece of cardboard in a old mustang once.Sometimes take a week to act up.two pumps and removing and checking the filters many times.But found it.
