...mile.. Now it won't idle or rev?? I have a 66 VW beetle, accidently towed it in 1st gear to 30 mph for about 1 mile.. Now it won't idle or rev up. I only noticed it because I heard the muffler, and my truck wouldn't accelerate. Anybody know what I might have done to the engine or what i should look at to fix??

Worst possible scenario, unfortunately. 1st gear means highest engine rpm, you have over revved it and could have serious internal problems (bent valves, wiped bearings, etc). Generally, overrevving damages the valve train and crankshaft rod bearings first, but it could be anything.

The good news is that parts for bug engines are still cheap and easily obtained. And they're very easy to work on.
