is there a cheaper way to upgrade the GPS software on my Lexus 2001 suv?

It has Map Database Version 2000 ver. 1
the dealer charges $275 plus for the upgrade that's why i wanna know if there's a way around this.

Take it to your Lexus dealer- they should be able to do it, but they'll charge you.

EDIT: No I don't think there is a cheaper way- generally the in-dash GPS systems are proprietary and you can't do it yourself. Sorry.
 
Well you can afford the payments on that vehicle that will be small change for you. Why Nickel and Dime your fancy vehicle, right? Or you are looking for a bootleg copy?
