The Mercedes E300 Bluetec Hybrid has a 201bhp 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel engine combined with a 27bhp electric motor.
The standard-fit 17-inch alloys increase emissions to 111g/km and average economy to 65.7mpg for the saloon, while the estate's stats are revised to 119g/km of CO2 and 62.8mpg.
Mercedes says the E-Class hybrid can be driven solely on electric power for up to one kilometer, at up to 21mph.
