last week my 1996 dodge caravan started having transmission problems it was slipping and got to the point it wouldnt get out of 2nd gear we got it towed home and a few days later my hubby drove it just to see and it drove fine for a few dayswhen it started back getting stuck in 2nd gear now i tried to move it out of driveway and when you start it up itsfine but as soon as you put it in drive or reverse it cuts off note during the time of all this transmission problem my hubby changed the filter and put new transmission fluid in i was just wondering what could be wrong ???? it has half of tank of gas any suggestions are greatly appreciated

you either have a shift solenoid stuck in the transmission or the lock up switch has gone bad, that will cause it to die every time you put it in gear, you,ll probably have that one took to a shop to get it right again, good luck ans happy holidays.
