hi - i have nissan maxima 3.0 l, standard. my vehicle's electrical has just started to act up. the electrical is erratic causing the radio, heater, and various display lights to power surge on and off and act intermittently when turned on. i've checked and tightened my battery terminals. i have checked my fuses. when i rev the engine to 4500-5000 rpm the electrical is ok. as soon as the revs drop, the vehicle's electrical acts up. i was thinking it could be the wiring or the alternator. would using a product to prevent belt slipping be a possible easy solution??? any insight is much appreciated.

check your alt.belt for the correct tension if its not tight enough it will do what you say causing the alt not to charge propley and have the whole system checked for the proper voltage from the regulator which i think might be in your alt.

Using a product to prevent belt slipping wont work. I'd get the car into a shop asap for an electrical diagnostic.
