It is reported that Nissan is manufacturing a new hatchback and plans to re-enter the competitive hatchback market in Europe in 2014.
In this year's Geneva Motor Show, Nissan has introduced a hatchback concept car, which will become a new model in the Nissan globalization strategy with competitors Fox and Golf. The new five-door hatchback will be assembled by the plant of Nissan in British Sunderland City.
It is understood that the specific design and the R & D work of the new car will go ahead in Cranfield of Bedfordshire, Nissan European Technology Centre. The new car will use the same platform with the Qashqai and integrate the latest technology including full-size sunroof, automatic parking systems and low-cost satellite navigation. It will use Renault-Nissan alliance 1.2L supercharged engine and 1.5L diesel engine.
