98 Chrysler sebring lxi, no sound when aftermarket cd player is plugged in..help!!?

the aftermarket cd player is all plugged in and willl power on but the speakers have no sound!!! I know the speakers work because when the stock/factory cd player is plugged in they have sound...help!!
