about 2001 fiat punto?

how do you open the lock that olds your door closed even know that the mechanism still seem like it moves but dont seem to release door still is there a way to get the catch to open there dont seem to see be any thing to release it

Hold the outside handle up,then put a phillips/posidrive screwdriver in the slot where the lock catch is and click it to the open position.Hope this helps
