Get the processor the software can wait if your running xp your good. Windows vista will drop their sp1 next spring anyway. Email me if you have more computer questions.

Both are good in their own purpose. Get the pc with both. I wouldn't worry about Vista, but for other processor options check out the Pentium Quad Core.

i think what you're asking doesn't make sense. AMD is a processor & Windows Vista is an operating system. I say get a computer that has both. AMD x64 processors are great & vista is ok. You could always ditch Vista & get Linux instead. That is, if you're not into gaming. It provides better peace of mind. Try Ubuntu if you wish.
