i am thinking about purchasing one. It is a 1997 with 64, 000 miles and is in good condition. Asking price is 8,000
Are mitsubishi 3000's good cars?

Depends on the specific model. 3000GT's are great looking cars, but the only model worth getting is the All wheel drive twin turbo VR4 model. The other models are still heavy and lack decent gas mileage, but they are also SLOW. If you're looking at a VR4, buy it NOW. If you are looking at the other base models or SL model, don't buy it unless you want rednecks in pickups to rape you at stop lights. Good luck with your car searching!

the vr4's are awesome cars. they are pretty expensive when it comes to maintenance though. with low mileage like that, i would guess that it isnt a vr4. if you are into modifying, it is possible to take the non turbo and put a turbo motor in it. there is a guy running a fwd with the turbo motor and he is putting down some very impressive times on the dragstrip. the reason he went that way is because he was putting down so much power that he was snapping driveshafts and burning up transmissions.
the vr4 is a very solid car, but also very heavy. the gas mileage isnt the greatest but it isnt horrible either. if you like the car and it feels comfortable, go for it. if you are seeking performance, dont buy it unless it is a vr4.
