Audi vs Saab?

Audi VS SAAB?

I am shopping for a convertible. I am considering 2004 Audi A4 3.0 Cabriolet w/ Premium pkg 45.5k miles $20K (I haven't driven it yet), 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc 47k miles $20K (I drove it).

any input about any of these two cars in regards to maintenance and reliability, safety, comfort and performance would be appreciated.

go with the sabb people who I know that have had audi's in the past have not had a good time whith them as they often break.

According to Consumer Reports, the '04 Audi A4 is much more reliable that the '04 Saab 9-3. Saab owners reported serious problems with the electrical system, the audio system, body hardware, paint, brakes, and transmission. A4 owners only reported minor problems in the electrical system, transmission, and body hardware.

Be sure to have your car inspected by a qualified mechanic BEFORE you buy because most used cars are sold "as-is" which means you can't take it back if you find problems later.

Both cars are average for reliability. The Audi has 220 horsepower and the Saab has 210- the Audi will probably handle better because it is AWD as opposed to the Saab's FWD. My dad has the Saab and it's a great car, but given the choice of the two I would pick the Audi. The interior is nicer on the German too.
