buying new fuel pump for a 1999 gmc suburban, what letter in the VIN# is...

...the one you need to know for the pump i am buying a new fuel pump for a 1999 gmc suburban, but when i do a search for new pumps, i see several pumps that i need, most of which are for the year, model, engine, that i need, but some will say "VIN F" or other characters....i am trying to figure out what space in the VIN # is the one I need to know

the 8th # is the engine size the 10th # is the year ,there is a # on top of the fuel pump where the fuel lines connect
