Can a 96 cadillac car key prevent it from starting,?

My car security system won't allow the car to stay crunk. The message says to remove the ignition key and that security system has been set. Can I get another key or have the original key reprogrammed

Only a dealer can fix this. The security system has recognized an attempt to steal the car.

got to a cadilac dealer, they can look up your VIN and issue you a new key.
