Chevy Truck C-30 1988 will not start?

You may need to check to see if a fuel filter is plugged . Also , check to see that the engine is getting fuel - BE CAREFUL and be sure you have a fire extinquisher at hand !
Also , check to see if your sparkplugs are firing and TAKE CARE the sparkplugs , with the coil , generates a lot of voltage !
Have you made sure that the starter is turning the engine over as it normally has ? Sometimes the engine is not turning over quickly enough and , is your firing order been changed ?
It is difficult to determine what is wrong but you are doing the right things by eliminateing possibilities so that you can narrow it down to the problem .

If you jumpered the clutch switch and the truck still does not start, and does not crank , I would suggest the ignition switch. (the electrical part, not the key & tumbler)
