Does my Subaru Outback XT need snow chains/tires?

I'm planning on going to Tahoe from So. Cal next week and I've never driven in snow in any vehicle before. The OEM tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE92A All-Season. Are these sufficient enough for driving in snow? It looks like it will be snowing while I'm up there.

My Outback has a "viscous-type locking center differential and limited-slip rear differential with torque distribution normally configured at a 50/50-split front-to-rear."

To me, it sounds fit to drive in snow straight out of the chute. Any other opinions?
