Ethanol and a 89 Mazda?

We made the mistake of pumping the wrong gas into our car. Instead we pumped ethenol into an empty gas tank. We're not getting any power and it's running sluggish. What should we do? Asked around and most are saying to drop the gastank and replace the o2 sensor.

You might be able to use a siphon pump to get out most of the ethanol....then fill it with high octane on the first tank. Not sure that you will need to replace the o2 sensor. If it still shows a 'Check Engine' light...then maybe so....but don't change it unless you have too.

for now i would just siphon out as much ethanol as possible, allitle is fine since there is already a little in gasoline. Then add gasoline and let it run through. I think the o2 sensor will be fine.
