Faith/nonfaith and politics?

How do your religious beliefs or lack of religious beliefs affect your political positions?
How do they correlate?

faith in religion has cause a lot of loss for me in my life.

The basic tenement to my faith is freedom. Freedom to worship or not. Freedom to have a religious belief or not.

I don't think that it would be fair to say that the two do not correlate. Of course they do - it is how you were raised, one way or another, and they spill into each other. I wouldn't say they define my political stance, nor do they influence my opinion on all of my views, but there is definitely a tie between the two. I don't think anyone can question that.

go hand-in-hand.

When it comes to voting, the candidate who shares my values may not be the best qualified, or competent candidate. I try to go with the best man -- even if the best man is a woman.
