fiat punto 1996 shockabsorbers?

I HAVE A 1996 PUNTO ITS FRONT SHOCKABSORBER IS GONE WANNA PUT SOME OTHER CARS SHOCKs which are softer than the original coz i found the original ones very stiff and harder on bumps,any ideas which ones can be good and cheap if any?i love my car as its my first jus trying to get a smooth ride if i can? plz help thanks
