fiat stilo rear brake lamp failure?

hi i have a fault come up on my dashboard saying rear brake lamp failure. i was advised to change the bulbs witch i have done and still the light is on can anyone help .the main dealer want lots of money just to have look i wouyld be gratefull for any help thanks andy

Fiats are prown to water ingersion through the rear cluster and it will be a problem with corrosion on the electricall contact remove the bulb and use a piece of fine sand paper to clean all the contacts including the point where the wires attach to the cluster and the earth point as the earth point will probably be the cause but if you clean all contact surfaces this will clear the fault i hope this helps
