Fuse box for 1986 Mercury Cougar?

Where is the location of the fuse box on a 86 mercury cougar?
What should I check when my car has no power. Nothing turns on when I start the ignition. We already tried to change the battery and the connections to it. We also changed the distributor, but nothing has helped.

It should be on the left side of the dash either on the dash when you open the drivers door or under the dash above the left side wall panel. It may have a cover over it with a little opening to pull on and remove the cover.
