I took my '96 Geo Metro for SMog check, and the tech gave me a
problem code, which points toward the central control module (whatever that is.) I checked the part at Auto Zone and Pep Boys,
$69.99-$79.00 price. I'm a teen barely starting college, and I'm extremely short on cash. Should I replace the central control module on the car, or ignore it? What happens if i don't replace it? And can I do the work myself? Any suggestions to a rookie is well appreciated.
Also, when I make sharp turns, this loud knocking sounds off from either the motor or somewhere in the steering-linkage system. What is it? Can I do something about it?
(I was told it was the boots of the front wheels, which I certainly don't have a clue what it is).
