My husband just bought a really nice 1997 Hyundai Accent perfect inside and out...142K miles for 1500 dollars. Did he do well? All parts work no work needed on the car.
Well back then they were not made with the best technology but if timing belt was changed twice and it runs good then great. A good deal. Expect 25-30k miles left before problems.
My best friend in high school had one and it was a POS, and that was back in 97. God only knows what that car is like now. The New Hyundais are built better but the accents in the 90s were the worst cars ever.
