General Motors Company shortly became identified as one of the largest car manufacturers in the world after it was established in 1908. A year after, Grabowsky Rapid Motor Vehicle Company (GMC) teamed up with General Motors. The trade name GMC Trucks was first introduced in 1912 at the New York Auto Show. Eight months later, it was registered with the United States Patent Office.
