car has 206k miles- buy new car or? I was a 911 displaced worker, out of work untill 2003. We're still feeling the effects financially. We've not money to use for any type of entertainment. My dilema is whether to take/buy gifts and trips for my daughter or replace my old car and have nothing left from the settlement. My daugthers has been wanting to travel and visit other countries and states. She's also wanted different classes like dance and voice. So I reallly don't know what to do since the money is not enough for a car and her wants she's gone with out for so long. Thanks for your ideas.

First off get you a new car. It doesn't have to be BRAND new but at least one that has been driven by an elderly person. You know they only drive to church on Sundays anyways! Then buy her NECESSITIES! Explain to her your current situation and make her understand that she can't always get what she wants but she will get what YOU feel that she NEEDS until the situation gets better. I had to do that with my children when I was going to school and didn't have a good job. The were 6 and 7 but we made it. I prayed alot also. Just pray about it. Things will get better when you least expect it.
