rights do I have? My vehicle is a 91 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Damage is to driver-side headlight, fender, bumper, and grille. Radiator was untouched and the rest of the Jeep is fine. Cost of repair is $2000 and they want to total it but I don't want a salvage title or the hassle, Can't I make them fix it. It was their client that hit me, it wasn't my fault, why should I suffer.
Grange says that the repair exceeds the limit compared to the value and they consider it a total loss, they are going to call me monday and tell me what they will offer me but it will be either lose the car or accept a salvage title. I like the car and don't want to lose it but I don't want a salvage title either.
I understand the Jeep is 16 years old but it is still worth more than the repairs. I suffered already because I had to take off work to get the estimate( $27hr) and I really love my car, so please no opinions, I just wanted to know the law and what rights I have.
