Headlights on 1992 Buick Park Avenue do not turn on until high beam selector is

used.? Light switch on driver door will not turn on headlights all the time. When they don't turn on, I have found that if I pull the high beam selector on the steering column I can get the low beams to stay on. Lately it has become a regular problem now that it's getting cold. I'm thinking there's a problem in the steering column. Is there a high beam switch in the steering column that is causing this problem? Can I replace it?

OH I just had this happen to me. Its the dimmer switch. Not sure how to fix it in a buick but I fixed my cougars problem. Mine would flicker. I just put in a toggle switch b/c my car was a real pile of crap. A few weeks later I lost a balljoint at 60 mph. yikes that cars gone. Yeah get a repair manuel and a dimmer switch. or take it into a mechanic. Remember to disconect battery first.
