how do i remove the rear speaker and speaker grill from a 1999 hyundai accent

Well, the first thing to do is ask the permission of the owner, and then as my guess would permit, turn the whole speaker or release the latches that keeps them on their place.

This is just a guess but most Japanese cars have it that way.

sedan step by step? i dont know what screws remove what, so i can install the speakers. I tried looking around inside the car and there are no screws inside. Do i have to take the seats out as well?

Try going through your trunk. I had a hyundai elantra and it had the screws for the speakers. As for the grills some are screwed in also from the trunk and some are snap ins.
