i want to trade in my car and get a new one. but the problem is my check engine light is on and i cant get rid of it. i've taken it to three different mechanics to try to get it fixed. but it still keeps popping back up. I've done a tune up, oil change and all that. made sure my gas cap is closed till it clicks. the last mechanic said it was a misfire problem and he had to change some kind of valve and so he did that. but no matter what it just kept coming back on. i took it back to him and he said it was the auction sensors. and it will cost 900 dollars to replace because of the labor and all the parts. so i gave up on trying to fix it cuz i already lost a lot of money. i just want to trade it in now. its a '02 mazda protege and has 114k on the mileage. everything works fine its just that stupid engine light. will the car dealer still accept it? if they do will they still give me a fair price when i trade it in?
