I have an older model SONY car radio, and the mini jack and phono's do not

work with my ipod I need more help. Thanks to all for your answers but I need more info, it is obvious that I need some sort of adapter to connect. I would be grateful if someone could give me a part number or something. SONY MD/CD car radio. Thanks .

Is it a mini jack on the back of the sony radio you are plugging the i-pod into?
If it is you will find it's actually a socket for remote control and not an auxillery music input.

Different type of plug. For some radios the plug alone can be $50. If you aren't going to use cd's anymore, I'd by the cheapest compatible model of the brand that I'm most familiar with.In crutchfield magazine, there's a Sony with built in Ipod control,remote, and sub control among other things for $160. You could even find a Dual radio with built in Ipod control forAbout $130 at Wal-Mart
