I'm 16 years old lookin at a 2006 Yamaha YZF R6 is this a good starter bike???

I know I've got to respect the power of the bike...
Using it for school and work transportation...

The Yamaha YZF R6 is a good starter bike I would say. The key here is that you are willing to respect the power of the bike. At high RPM it can get away from you pretty easily. Granted, if you are only going to work and back, and to school, you probably would not get into all it can do for you.
