Is the Mazda Rx8 a good and reliable car?

I am considering getting one and my friend told me that if you ever need to get the engine worked on it would be expensive because it is a rotary engine. Also I have read that people have had to replace the engine with very low miles. Can someone that has owned one or owns one tell me their experience with it and tell me if you would recommend it. Thank you!

Nooo don't listen to all the retards saying is bad.

Is only bad because they treat it like a normal engine. While it's a very different animal.

Mazda has been building Rotary engine for over 30 years they have eliminate all bugs.

A rotary engine is reliable if you know how to take care of it and understand it.

Is an engine that you have to REDLINE ONCE a day to prevent carbon build up.
Is not a car you can granny normal combustion don't like Rev but Rotary loves and need it.
Oil Change at every 3000 Miles and Oil top up every 2nd Gas fill up.
Follow that and you should find no problem at ALL.

I hope this help.
