Lexus ES330 or Audi A4?

I am about to buy a car: a 2004 or 2006 Lexus ES330 or a 2006 Audi A4. All the ones I looked at are front-wheel drive. I'm really not much of a car person, so I'm not looking for top luxury, super fast, etc. I've just never had a really nice car, and these 2 seemed to fit the bill and have great safety records, no/few recalls, etc. Which is the better quality car? Reliable, few issues / repairs, less likely to be in the shop all the time, the better value? I'm not too worried about the price of repair parts either, because both Lexus and Audi are offering 3+ yr warranties, loaner cars during repairs, etc.

Audi. The Lexus looks to quirky and is an old lady car, especially in that purple color. If, I may mention another choice, the BMW 3-Series is better than both of these cars on almost every level. I own one and it is EXTREMELY Reliable, comfortable, Agile, 28mpg on mid/highway, higher resale value and better looking. I bought this in 2003 when I was a person who wanted the basics and never thought driving could be fun. I tested this car just to see what it was like. I traded my Volvo in for one of these and I am almost ready for my fourth BMW. It's worth a look. They also have better CPO Programs.
