My Audi a4 98 that i have been haveing provlems with when i get gas and start it...

...after wards it will spit and? then will quit. i have to hold that throttle the the floor to get it to start but i have noticed that starts doing it when the inside flap that the gas nosel goes through when that seal is opened that is when it starts to spit and sputter and then quit i am not sure where to go with it. Please help

Might try replacing your fuel filter. Especially if you've noticed your fuel mileage decreasing. I'd suggest going ahead and doing a full tune up (oil, spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter etc.) and while your at the auto parts store ask about RXP it's a fuel additive that works wonders with cleaning your fuel system (it's a small orange bottle) great stuff. After having done all that fill up with fuel and put the RXP in the tank (follow directions on the bottle) and hopefully that will get it fixed for ya. Good luck!
